HDR (High dynamic range) has been supported by some TVs for quite a while now. Since 2019, we see more and more HDR support in monitors as well. HDR monitors provide better contrast and a wider color palette. Given the right content, images and videos will look more realistic and more vibrant.

YouTube supports HDR content, more and more games support it, Netflix streams HDR content and image processing software like Photoshop has been supporting it for quite a while.
